Aircraft marking (1961-1970; 1991 to date)
Image by Željko Heimer, 26 May 2001
According to Album des pavillons nationaux et des marques distinctives
(National flags and distinctive markings) (2000 edition) [pay00], the
Congo uses a classical roundel of green-yellow-red.
Željko Heimer, 26 May 2001
The l'Armee de l'Air du Congo was formed on June 1961.
Cochrane & Elliott (1998) [cos98] report that until 1970 the only aircraft marking was the national flag as a fin flash.
Adapted from www.skytamer.com
When the country became the People's Republic of Congo in 1970 a new roundel based on the new flag was introduced and the new flag was used as the fin flash.
In 1991, the original roundel was re-introduced and it is also used as the
fin flash.
